Hello! I’m mchaver.

I’m a professional software developer. As far as software development goes, I’m currently interested in algorithms, databases, graphics and game development, mobile and web applications, performance and type systems. I like the following programming languages: C, Clojure, Common Lisp, Forth, Haskell, ReScript, and Rust.

Before getting involved in software, I started my academic career as a linguist. My areas of interest are Morphology, Phonotactics, Second Language Acquisition, Syntax, and the following language families: Athabaskan, Formosan, Indo-European, Japonic, Mayan and Sino-Tibetan. I also like Mathematics, but I am relatively new to most fields. I am actively learning in my free time.

I like biking, hiking, skiing, swimming, etc. Anything that gets me outside and that I can do with friends and family.
